Find out the hopes and dreams of your tamariki.
Why do it?
Drawing is a good chance for tamariki to:
- be creative and express themselves
- try out a variety of drawing materials and techniques
- grow their skills and confidence in drawing through
practice — repetition of actions strengthens pathways in their brain
How to do it
You’ll need: Some paper and some pens, pencils or crayons.
- Draw a whētu shape onto paper and cut it out.
- Write or draw your wish on the whētu.
- Wait until night time and whisper your wish up to the sky.
- Hang your star on your wall or fridge.
