Make some egg-cellent eggs Activity
Make some decorated stones or eggs to add some colour to your day.
Why do it?
Drawing and painting is a good chance for tamariki to:
- be creative and express themselves
- try out a variety of drawing materials and techniques
- grow their skills and confidence in drawing through practice — repetition of actions strengthens pathways in their brain
- strengthen the fine muscles in their hands and fingers, which will help them when they start writing letters and numbers.
How to do it
You’ll need: Eggs (or flat stones with round edges), paints and things you can glue on (optional)
- Boil your eggs for six minutes and let them cool, or give your stones a good wash.
- Draw a picture onto your egg stone, or decorate it with paint and glitter.
- Give your creation to someone you care about or use an egg cup to display it.
