Make arty cards Activity
Spend time making a card for someone special.
Why do it?
Drawing is a good chance for tamariki to:
- be creative and express themselves
- try out a variety of drawing materials and techniques
- grow their skills and confidence in drawing through practice — repetition of actions strengthens pathways in their brain
- strengthen the fine muscles in their hands and fingers, which will help them when they start writing letters and numbers.
How to do it
You’ll need: Paper or card, crayons or pencils, glue, leaves, glitter etc – use whatever you have!
- Fold your paper in half.
- Decorate the front with a special design, collage or picture
- Write a message on the inside (get help if you need it).
- Give your card to someone special!
Extra: Talk about other (free!) ways that you can show people you care.
