Support from the midwife

The midwife supports whānau for the first 4 to 6 weeks after baby is born.

The midwife will give whānau the Well Child Tamariki Ora book, which is free. The book has information about all the things whānau can do to keep their tamariki healthy and safe. Whānau can also download the Well Child app.

Registering for the service

It’s important for whānau to register with a Well Child Tamariki Ora provider as soon as their baby is born – this will ensure they can be seen straight after the midwife's visits are completed.
